Learning to Grow

“But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever! Amen.” - 2 Peter 3:18

I had barely touched a Bible in my whole life until early 2024. As you can imagine, I had a lot of trouble getting started. I had heard the story of creation, Adam and Eve, and Noah and the ark. I knew the Christmas story, but that was the extent of my Bible knowledge.

That started changing for me almost two years ago. I pulled out a Bible that had been given to me as a gift and started reading, only to discover I was very lost. I felt so disappointed and confused. Then, last year, I joined a women's Bible study. I took several of them, but again, I felt discouraged because the material seemed way over my head. I felt like I was sinking deeper and deeper into a sea of confusion.

Slowly, over time, and with the help of dear friends from Buckeye, I have learned more about Jesus. Now, when I’m reading alone, I come up with my own questions—and to me, that means I’m truly learning and growing. I still have a lot to read, which I will never stop doing. My learning and growing will never end. This is my never-ending adventure!
