In a short amount of time, I will be undergoing surgery for a hysterectomy. The doctor will cut into my stomach and remove a part of my anatomy that's not functioning properly. It's been a bittersweet emotional ride, but one I've had to endure with the support of many. So many wonderful women have shared their personal experiences and reassured me that things get better after surgery. People have stepped up to help me with tasks I won't be able to manage while recovering, someone has offered to cover for me at work, and others have volunteered to love on my kids.
“Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor: If either of them falls down, one can help the other up. But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up.”
- Ecclesiastes 4:9-10
God has designed us to support each other in times of need, and I love how He's created us to do this. Not only is God there for us, but He puts people in our lives who will be there for us as well, so we don't have to go through life alone. Consider how you can be there for someone in need this week. How can we help each other and lift each other up? Two are truly better than one.
